Apprentice: 2 years + 2 school or certified instructor references + verified 10 years surfing experience

Instructor: 4 years + 3 school or certified instructor references + verified 10 years surfing experience

Master: 8 years + 4 school or certified instructor references + 1 certified master instructor endorsement* + verified 20 years surfing experience

Note: NSSIA endorsed instructor training may be acceptable for instructor experience.

Also include NSSIA training (location, date, etc.) that may be relevant. Add additional pages as necessary. Please return the completed application with $25 annual fee to NSSIA, P.O. Box 550, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732.

Note: Letters on your behalf should be sent by the surf schools and individuals identified on this application directly to the NSSIA. You will be notified of acceptance status when all supporting documentation is received.

The submitter of this application hereby agrees to abide by the surfing code of ethics, the surf school code of ethics and will also incorporate the NSSIA water safety rules into their programs.
